Frangipani,
Kuala Lumpur-
Winner of the 2003 MIDA (Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers) award in the Leisure & Entertainment category, this fine dining restaurant is housed in 3 art deco inspired shop lots, the façade of which was given a simple make over to preserve and enhance the existing art deco features.
The interior was refurbished to include a new water feature carved out of the centre shop lot with stately columns added to frame the pool and the new skylight overhead. The skylight adds much needed filtered light into the previously dark interior highlighting the central still water pool as the focus for the surrounding dining spaces.

The interior was transformed into a stylish contemporary dining room, the design of which was inspired by the restaurant's namesake, the five-petal Frangipani flower. This beautiful flower is reminiscent in the abstract perforated stainless steel panels and decorations that adorn the walls as well as the custom designed light fittings.
